Robert Lopez, author of Part of the World, Kamby Bolongo Mean River, and Asunder, has asked me to contribute to his No News Today project. Yes, I was more than happy to oblige. My contribution should appear in the coming months and, when it does, I will be joining an absurdly talented roster of writers.
I have tremendous respect for Robert Lopez; the pure, mad rhythm of his work is astounding and, as a writer, he is entirely unafraid to follow his characters deep down to the very bottom of the lake. Certainly an honor to be a part of this project.
In other news that is not No News, my review of Michael Bible's Cowboy Maloney's Electric City has been accepted by the fine folks at The Collagist. It is scheduled to appear in their July issue. Keep an eye out for that and, in the mean time, check out his book. It is an excellent and overheated summer hallucination.
